Meat And Dairy May Be Linked To Cancer Risk
Despite the popularity of protein-rich diets like Atkins and Paleo, new research suggests that it may be wise to steer the opposite way, especially when it comes to cancer risk. In the new study, middle-aged people who ate protein-heavy diets had a markedly increased risk of dying from cancer compared to their low-protein counterparts. But, as always, there are caveats: Protein from animal sources – meat and dairy – was what largely produced the risk, whereas plant-derived proteins seemed to be “safer.” And the rules seem to be different for people over the age of 65.

I'm grinning at this because I'm a vegetarian MUAHAHAHA.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is true. I know my grandfathers both lived up to past the high seventies in age and they were both vegetarians for most of their lives.
On the other hand, some of my older uncles have been getting cancer and i know one is a heavy meat eater as my dad mention.
World can use more vegetarians.

Yeah..it's a shame.
But choosing diets of heavy meat intakes is somewhat their fault in diet choices as well. They're just slowly killing themselves in the inside.
Meat every so often? Fine. But meat everyday and in large quantities? Sickening and wouldn't be surprised if that kills a person sooner.

It's sad to think people like this crap when they have no idea that the animals are being abused.
Tofurky seems like a better alternative.

It does. If more vegetarian food were replicated to have a similar taste to meat - I hope it would lower the production of actual meat at the expense of animal lives.
It's sad, but yeah - that study certainly does indications how vegetables and non-meats do provide a much healthier style of living.

There are plenty of those, including vegan food. A lot of them can be seen here:
